Program Description

The Tender Loving Care Project provides employment opportunities and support services to enable Contra Costa Mental Health consumers to live successfully in the community. This is accomplished by hiring mental health consumers as Consumer Support Workers to provide such supportive services as:

Housekeeping chores

Grocery shopping

Meal planning and preparation

Gardening and yard maintenance

Moving to a new address

Peer support

Assistance with going to appointments, classes, community resources, recreational activities, etc.

 

If you are a Contra Costa Mental Health Consumer and would like to HAVE a Community Support Worker, talk with your mental health service provider and call Mental Health Consumer Concerns at 925-646-5788 ext. 6 to get referral information. You will need to complete a release of information form and your mental health service provider will need to complete a referral form.
